MEDIAS EN SEINE FESTIVAL’s PANEL

SPEAKER

My exhibition ‘Invisible People of the Ocean’ was selected by Maison de la Radio et de la Musique to illustrate the Media en Seine festival and, more precisely, how to talk about the climate emergency in the media.

It was an honor to present my photographic works in the nave of the Radio France building, and it was also very gratifying to be invited to a round table in the same way as Jean Louis Etienne, a famous author, doctor, and explorer.

Our role was to talk about our experiences at the poles as witnesses to global warming: Jean-Louis Etienne, as an explorer and adventurer, and I, as a journalist aboard the schooner Tara.

SHORT FILM SCREENING

SPEAKER

I was invited to present my short film, ‘La Course de Leur Vie,’ for its first screening at the Geneva Waterproof Festival on October 11, 2018. I was delighted to interact with the public and see their enthusiasm for the 20-minute movie, in which I share my insight working as an Onboard TV reporter for the Clipper round-the-world yacht race.
On this occasion, my film won the ‘Prix du Public’ award by the audience.

SYNOPSIS: Filmed onboard a 70-foot ocean racing yacht miles closer to the International Space Station than to land, Maéva Bardy, onboard cinematographer for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, faces phenomenal sea-states, hurricane conditions as well as extremes of heat and cold in pursuit of her documentary. This insightful behind-the-scenes story captures both the exhilaration and exhaustion experienced by the Race Crew in The Race of Their Lives.

PHOTO EXHIBITION

SPEAKER

Through my work and my photographic exhibitions, I am invited to speak publicly about my different experiences as a photographer and videographer. Discussing your passion and seeing the enthusiasm of the public is always rewarding. But for me, it is also an opportunity to raise public awareness of the environmental issues I have faced and bear witness to our planet’s beauty and health.

By presenting my photo exhibitions at the Visa Festival (Perpignan) and the Maison de la Radio (Paris), I felt the duty to share Tara’s science. I was invited to the Visa pour l’Image Festival school week. During a week, I met nearly 600 young people aged 6 to 18 to whom I presented my job and my experience, without forgetting to talk about scientific research aboard the schooner Tara and the importance of a healthy Ocean.
